Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026
This policy explains what information ExeBrowser ("we", "us", "the site") collects when you visit exebrowser.com, how it is used, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it plain and honest.
The most important point: your files stay on your device
ExeBrowser runs entirely in your browser. When you load a Windows .exe file (or a folder or zip), the file is read locally using the browser's File API and written into an in-memory virtual filesystem. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party. No network request carries your executable, its data, or anything the program does in memory off your device. When you close or reload the tab, that in-memory filesystem is discarded. We therefore have no access to, and no record of, the files you run.
Information we collect automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics tools collect limited technical information when you visit, such as:
- Your approximate location (derived from IP address, typically at the country/region level)
- Browser type and version, operating system, and device type
- Pages visited, time on page, and referring website
- Standard server log data such as request timestamps
We use this only in aggregate to understand traffic and improve the site. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to measure traffic and usage patterns. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes the technical data described above on our behalf. You can read about Google's practices at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out across all sites with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google AdSense and advertising cookies
This site displays ads served by Google AdSense to keep it free to use. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising from many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.com (EU).
For more information on how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We and our service providers (Google Analytics and Google AdSense) use cookies for analytics and advertising as described above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling them will not prevent the EXE-running functionality from working, since that runs entirely client-side.
Consent for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
Where required by law, advertising and analytics cookies that are not strictly necessary are used only with your consent. Consent is collected through a Google-certified consent management prompt presented to visitors in those regions before personalized advertising or analytics cookies are set. You can give, withhold, or later change your choice through that prompt; you can also control or block cookies entirely through your browser settings, and opt out of personalized advertising using the links in the section above. Withholding consent does not affect the core EXE-running functionality, which runs entirely on your device.
Children's privacy
ExeBrowser is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and security
We do not store your uploaded files at all. Aggregate analytics data is retained by Google according to the retention settings configured in our Analytics property. Because the application logic runs locally, the attack surface for your data is minimal.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to its processing. Because we do not collect directly identifying information ourselves, most such requests are best directed to Google for the analytics/advertising data they process. You can also contact us using the contact page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves or as legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
