By using exebrowser.com ("the site"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What ExeBrowser is
ExeBrowser is a free tool that runs Windows executable files inside your browser using WebAssembly and an embedded build of Wine and the Boxedwine x86 emulator. All execution happens locally in your browser; we do not receive, store, or process the files you run.
Acceptable use
You agree to use ExeBrowser only with software you have the legal right to run, and only for lawful purposes. In particular, you must not use the site to:
- Run, distribute, or analyze malware, viruses, or other harmful code with intent to cause harm;
- Infringe the copyright, license terms, or other intellectual-property rights of any software you load;
- Attempt to circumvent technical protection measures in violation of applicable law;
- Disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its infrastructure.
You are solely responsible for the executables you choose to run and for ensuring you are permitted to run them.
Open-source software and licensing
ExeBrowser is built on free and open-source software, each under its own license: Boxedwine (GPL-2.0), Wine (LGPL-2.1), BrowserFS (MIT), and JSZip (MIT). Our own glue code is released under GPL-2.0. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses. Wine is a trademark of CodeWeavers; ExeBrowser is an independent project and is not affiliated with WineHQ, CodeWeavers, Microsoft, or the Boxedwine project.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Browser-based emulation is inherently incomplete and slow; many applications will not run correctly or at all. We do not guarantee that any particular executable will work, that the site will be available, or that it will be free of errors.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExeBrowser and its maintainers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the site — including damage caused by any executable you choose to run. Because executables run inside the security sandbox of your own browser, the practical risk is limited, but you use the tool at your own risk.
Third-party content and ads
The site displays advertising provided by Google AdSense and uses Google Analytics. Your use of those services is also governed by Google's own terms and policies. See our privacy policy for details on data handling.
Changes
We may revise these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
